Our Philosophy
Our team is dedicated and committed to each and every one of our clients. All of us want the best outcome for our clients. We place importance on maintaining utmost client confidentiality while working diligently and aggressively to resolve cases. We are skilled in negotiation as well as litigation, and both Cheryl Lynn Hepfer and Geraldine Welikson Hess have been trained in Collaborative Law. Cheryl Hepfer has served as a mediator in Montgomery County, assisting in the mediated resolution of divorce cases. Those skills and expertise assist our firm to maximize the potential of our clients to resolve their cases through negotiation or mediation.
While some cases do proceed through trial, we use our best efforts to resolve cases without the necessity of litigation. We understand that litigation is expensive, financially and emotionally. By keeping our clients informed, and by exploring settlement options early on, we hope to minimize the expense and maximize the potential for an amicable resolution through negotiation and alternative dispute resolution. Structuring a settlement in a family law matter takes a great degree of expertise, and we use all of our skills and experience to assist our clients through the negotiation process.
In the event a trial is necessary, we work closely with our clients and their witnesses to prepare their case to be presented to the Court.
What will you do? Your job is to give us the information the Court needs to make its decisions and to show up for every appointment, hearing, and trial as required.
Throughout our work together on this case, we urge you to keep focused on your case and your future. This might seem obvious, but when our clients get their heads and hearts tied in knots, we like to remind them to consider:
- Your children and the effect this will have on them
- You feel confident and informed about your case
- The details of your case are kept confidential
- You understand your opinion on how your case proceeds
