
Geraldine Welikson Hess
Ms. Hess is a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. She graduated from Washington University School of Law in 1992 and earned a B.A. degree from the University of Rochester. She is admitted to practice in Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia, New Jersey, and New York.
Ms. Hess was listed in the February, 2009 issue of the Washingtonian Magazine as one of the top family law and divorce lawyers in the Washington, DC area, and in the February, 2004 issue was identified as "first-rate." Ms. Hess was also listed in the Maryland Super Lawyers in 2009. She is a skilled trial attorney, who has litigated contested cases, and has appeared before the Maryland trial-level courts and Maryland Court of Special Appeals.
Ms. Hess is active in the Montgomery County Bar Association, serving on several committees (Ethics and Professionalism). She is past President (1996 - 1997) of the Prince George's County Women's Bar Association and is active in the Montgomery County Chapter of the Maryland State Women's Bar Association. Ms. Hess is an Associate member of the American Inns of Court. She is also a member of the Family Law Section of the Maryland State and Montgomery County Bar Associations. Ms. Hess is actively involved with Court committees and in a number of other legal and civic associations.
Ms. Hess previously worked at the United States Department of Justice and the United States Senate Judiciary Committee, Subcommittee on Juvenile Justice.
